Rhodium Electroplating
What is rhodium electroplating and what is this kind of electroplating used for? Rhodium is a metal that is part of the family of the precious metal called platinum. Basically, rhodium is usually used to enhance the shine of jewelry or precious metals, most usually that of white gold. Rhodium is a precious metal itself and is often used to plate white gold, silver and platinum items to help protect the luster and shine of these metals. Since rhodium is a tough metal as well, it also gives items being plated with it additional strength and resistance to wear and tear. Also used for plating with gold, rack plating is used to plate a whole batch of items in one sitting. Somewhat similar to wiring where items are wired together so that they are plated at the same time with the use of the same electrical continuity, rack plating often uses custom made racks that depend on the shape of the items being plated. These racks are custom made to give the items being electroplated the uniform quality that most customers require for their industrial electroplating needs.
